Runway to Tabletop ~ Sequins and Zoe‏

Rachel Zoe knows sequins.
Her sense of style has always been a source of inspiration around our office.  One thing we share with the designer/stylist is a love of sparkles!  If you have ever watched The Rachel Zoe Project you’ll remember how vocal she was about her love of sequins.  This obsession spilled over into her recent fall collection which was filled with not only fun but more importantly, WEARABLE sequined attire.  I’ve been obsessing over this white sequined dress ever since I saw it in the Neiman Marcus Christmas Book.  I bet you can guess what I’m wearing to the company party, can’t you?

With the holiday’s coming up, make sure to add some glitz to your next event.  Try the glimmer of a sequined backdrop or a dazzling tablescape with sparkling linens.

However you can, take a cue from Ms. Zoe and add some panache to your holiday parties with a touch of sequins.

Runway to Tabletop ~ Burgundy Beauty‏

The quickest fix to get yourself into the spirit of fall is to change your lipstick.  Sure, a whole new wardrobe would do the trick, but if you just change one thing let it be your lipstick.  The darker hue will make you appear as through you changed your whole look, even if the only difference is that one little swipe of color.  To help find your perfect shade check out this article from Bazaar.com.  Also, for inspiration check out our new Pinterest board, Lovely Lips and Makeup Tricks.

As for around the office, color schemes have taken a darker turn as well.  We’re loving this burgundy trend and couldn’t wait to try it out during one of our latest events!  Dark red flowers mixed with black and silver made for lovely and romantic evening.  Another touch I loved were the hanging flowers, I thought it added an ethereal touch to the event.

What do you think of all this burgundy?  Are you loving it as much as we are?

Runway to Tabletop ~ Lavender Draping

velvet lavender Chameleon Chairs from Eventures Inc

One of my favorite fashion trends is draping.  When I wear a dress with that little extra bit of fabric, I feel like a classic Greek goddess.  So after seeing these velvet lavender chairs by Chameleon Collection, I was completely in awe.  They look like they were made by a couture designer!

These chairs immediately reminded me of the Elie Saab Couture dress Mila Kunis wore to the 2011 Oscars.  It is probably one of my favorite dresses of all time, and we know that’s saying a lot.  Also couldn’t this slinky 2009 Gucci dress be a twin with our chairs?  They look like they were separated at birth!  In addition to the draping lavender, it looks like metallic gold is the perfect match as shown on this model from Louise Goldin’s Spring 2010 show.  Good thing we paired our chairs with metallic gold pillows, after all we consider ourselves pretty fashionable.

Runway to Tabletop ~ Holograms

hologram decor

Holograms are hot for fall!  This futuristic fabric has been seen all over the runways.  Designer Michelle Smith of Milly ended her fall 2013 show with a bang by featuring a holographic sweater and skirt set.  Street style photographer Lee Oliveira captured this fashionista using the glowing trend to update her basic black top.  Of course, it wouldn’t truly be a trend unless we mentioned Chanel.  The design house created a holographic nail polish two years ago that is now sadly sold out.

Want to get in on the fun?  Use this pattern to shake up your wardrobe and your party decor!  Since this trend can be quite blinding, we mixed ours with solid and graphic print pillows.  Are you brave enough to try this trend?

Runway to Tabletop ~ Via Las Vegas

Las Vegas is the city of lights.  Everything there is bigger, bolder, and brighter than any other place in the world!  It’s easy to lose yourself in its ostentatious displays, however, on my recent trip I noticed that most of the decor was on the organic side.  It’s funny how all the glitz and glam of Vegas was overshadowed by some lush greenery and large flowered balls with twinkle lights.

At a recent event, we wanted the lights of Las Vegas but added some branches for a beautiful contrast…

Runway to Tabletop ~ A Touch of Tweed‏

With fall officially here, everything gets a little darker.  The days are darker and our wardrobes tend to be a bit less colorful.  This doesn’t mean your fall tablescape should be dreary!  Look to classic Chanel tweed to add a chic touch to your tabletop.  I’m particularly loving anything green right now.
