Runway to Tabletop ~ The wild wild west‏

There is not a fashion house more famous or influential than Chanel. So when they decided to show their 2013/14 Métiers d’Art show in Dallas, I couldn’t wait to see what Karl Lagerfeld had up his puffy sleeve. The event was held this past Tuesday and although I couldn’t get into the show (I certainly tried) here are a couple sneak peak pictures.*

Since this fashion extravaganza was held in Texas, you knew there was going to be a cowboy theme. Residing in Oklahoma often means that we find ourselves using a western motif. For a recent cowboy themed Christmas event, we used bandanas as napkins and a corral as a photo backdrop. Traditional red and green linens were paired with white flowers and the occasional sparkle of glitter adorned each tablescape.  Touches of burlap and leather added a touch of authenticity, while twinkle lights lit up the stage like the western sky.

As event planners we are trying to move towards more fashion forward events with less of an obvious theme party feel.  Keep your event chic with subtle touches of fun western flair.  We know Coco would approve!
